Even after having just arrived in front of the gates the guards will instantly stop you. They'll thoroughly eye you, but apologise for their not-too-hearty welcome and eventually let you in since you're not from Champa. Those are a people of pirates that's ravaged the town not long ago, as you'll be told. Well then, let's go explore the town!
After only a few metres you'll already be at Madra's market place. There you can go shopping just like your heart desires, which for the moment surely won't be such a bad idea, namely because Madra has many good things to offer!

It's also recommended to go look for the chest that's hidden here. To find it enter the inn, which can be found right of the booths. Go upstairs inside and through the following rooms. You'll come out of the house again and be on the roof then – run along the tarpaulins of the booths and you'll come to the chest standing on a cliff! Inside it you'll find a Nurse's Cap, a sturdy headgear. Afterwards you can go back to the town square.
But before exploring the rest of the town you should take a look into the hidden catacombs of Madra. From the town gate on run in eastern direction until you come to a graveyard. In the north, hidden behind the trees, there'll be the entrance to the catacombs.
First of all climb down the ladder and go into the next area. Here then take the northern one of the two passages. The following area can be simply run through.
You'll now be in the central area of the catacombs, so to say. Climb up the vine west of you and go to the pit, into which you can move a pillar. Run run the way before you further, climb down the vine and enter a ruin at the end through the crack in the wall.
The ground in the following room's rather poor-looking, but you can still jump towards a stairs here. Go it down, it'll lead you to a room. Inside it stands a chest from which you can take the Tremor Bit! This item will grant you a psynergy that's called Tremor and lets you make the earth around you shake. Now quickly leave the cave with Retreat and return to Madra.
From the market place on Madra's prison is located in the southeast. The guards at the entrance will tell you that a while ago the Champa have been able to free their leader Briggs from it. Apparently there's still one person imprisoned here, who apparently doesn't belong to them, though... Take a look inside!
Here one of the victims of the pirate raid and the prisoner by the name of Piers are currently exchanging some expletives. In his wrath the man will try to force Piers into making confessions, into saying that he's in fact a Champa, but the prisoner will insist on his no and warn the guy not to anger him. That's how things will be for a while, but soon a certain someone here will boil over...
Maybe a knee-jerk reaction, Piers will summon an icy pillar out of the puddle on which the man's standing, which will cause him to fall down. Scared about the stranger's mysterious powers the two present men will immediately run away. Kraden, who's also witnessed the happenings, will think of Piers' powers as being psynergy...
But even if you talk to Piers you won't get too much information about him. He'll only tell you that he's hoping for a quick return of Madra's mayor, the person who can declare his release. You'll see his regret when you read his mind. He'll notice your psynergy, which most likely makes him an adept like you, but he'll think it's been an illusion and won't pay any further attention to you. Well, out of this prison!
In the meantime the whole of Madra has heard of the incident, some people have already gathered in front of the prison. The mayor's wife, whose husband is currently on a journey, will soon appear and inspect the prison. She'll be quickly relieved to see no one's escaped from the prison. And she'll notice you, as after all you're rather noticeable adventurers. Since she somehow likes you she'll give you permission to travel to Osenia over Madra's drawbridge before she'll disappear again. Well, why not? Thus finally leave Madra now.
Right northeast of Madra there's the town's drawbridge. Since you've been given permission by the mayor's wife herself the guards will let you pass without further ado.
Only a little more walking after the drawbridge and you'll come to the Osenia Cliffs which connect the continents of Indra and Osenia. You can't miss them.
At furst run a little bit north here, then climb down the rope. Now jump over and follow the flotsam of the stricken ship until you come to a rope. Throw it with Lash, climb up and eventually down again through the vine. You'll right then find a chest with the valuable Pirate's Sword! Head back to the entrance and just keep going east. Cut your way till you come to the end of the cliffs.
Back on the World Map again all you need to is to follow the hiking trail southeast. You'll come a damaged bridge which will unfortunaly prevent you from going to Alhafra straight away. Instead follow the path further until you reach the Yampi Desert.
As the bridge's damaged there's apparently no other way to Alhafra for you than through this desert. It won't be a piece of cake, but still no real hindrance for you!
