Locations and Places
| Air's Rock |
The elemental rock of the winds. As the biggest one of the rocks it can be quite a pain to not only climb up to the summit but also to find the way through the confusing passages afterwards! But all the labour pays off, as a new psynergy will be revealed to your Jupiter Adept here.
| Alhafra |
Alhafra's a coastal town directly situated at Osenia's northern coast. Apparently it's quite well-off and in addition even has an own haven! You'll meet Briggs and the pirates for the first time here. And the town mayor, to whom "arrogant" could still be considered a praise...
| Altin |
The village of Altin most notably shines through its mining. The people here usually just do their daily work deep within the mines. Altin's a part of the Silk Road, a special trade road. Since the eruption of Mt. Aleph the village's statues have become quite lively, though...!
| Ankohl Ruins |
The ruins of a once very mighty, but already long-disappeared civilisation. The Ankohl were masters of the art of forging, but if you only look at the building, likely of architecture, too. Here they've left a part of the ancient trident, the Trident of Ankohl, for you to take!
| Apoji Islands |
Weyard's answer to another world's Hawaii. Summer, sunshine and palm trees, that's what these islands are about. I suppose that, if you didn't have to fulfil your quest, you'd most likely settle down here! =D
| Aqua Rock |
The elemental rock of water near the Apoji Islands. It consists of the outer rock itself as well as the inner rooms and passages, where the elemental chamber's located, too, in which a Water Adept will be able to learn a new endowment!
| Atteka Inlet |
The Atteka Inlet can be more or less seen as Contigo's harbour... To reach Contig by ship you'll have to hoist anchor here. Later in the game your ship will even receive a slight modification here! :-)
| Babi's Lighthouse |
Babi ordered the building of this lighthouse to be able to watch out for a misty area in the sea, where the ancient civilisation of Lemuria's supposed to be. Quite an ambitious project, admittedly! The lighthouse will be built directly above the tunnels which lead to the Venus Lighthouse.
| Bilibin |
The town of Bilibin directly lies behind the Goma Cave. It would look rather unimposing if it weren't for the palace, which directly links together with Bilibin! The rather inequal Lord and Lady McCoy are residing here. Out of fear of the curse upon Kolima they let build a barricade that blocks the way to Kolima.
| Bilibin Barricade |
The McCoys, rulers over Bilibin, ordered the building of this barricade out of fear of Kolima's curse. Only the Lor himself owns the key to it... but the barricades themvelses aren't that steadily built, though...!
| Bilibin Cave |
This cave connects the icy northern regions of Angara with the rest of the continent. You'll have to pass it to get to Imil as well as the Mercury Lighthouse.
| Champa |
Champa's a village right at Angara's southern coast. The people here live a modest life, mainly from fishing. As the sea became warmer and the fishes in the waters around the village died the fishermen became pirates and are now plundering Weyard's many villages together with their leader Briggs!
| Contigo |
Contigo was built on the soil where a long time ago the mighty civilisation of Anemos resided. The latter one is said to have loosened from the ground and now is Weyard's moon up in sky... Whatever, you'll have to pass this village whilst heading towards Jupiter Lighthouse, and a special event will take place here later on as well...
| Daila |
Daila's the very first village on your journey, that might be why it's not too spectacular, too! Still it's, for example, recommended to to buy some neat things here early in the game. Later on the sanctum will be of interest here, as it has a replica of the Sea Goddess!
| Dehkan Plateau |
A dry plateau in the midst of Indra. You'll find some stony paths here and even fragile ones! But at least there's still same valuable treasures that can be found in this place!
| E Tundaria Islet |
A small island directly before the icy continent of Tundaria. Take a a final rest here before you'll want to explore Tundaria. Greet the penguins!
| Fuchin Temple |
This temple's led by Master Nyumpa. He teaches the mysterious power of Chi to his pupils, which is an energy wave made of mental energy. And this power can even be given to you, should you pass the test in the temple's caves!
| Gaia Rock |
The elemental rock of earth. Called "Mt. Mikage" by the people of Izumo. And also on this one's end you'll be granted a new psynergy, that is, your Venus Adept. But be careful! In contrast to the other elemental rocks this one's quite well-guarded!
| Garoh |
A village with some very special residents: Garoh's populated by lycanthropes, werewolves! The Garohans prefer to keep this as a secret amongst themselves. As a long time ago people with their abilities were hunted and killed mercilessly...
| Goma Cave |
Die Goma-Höhle führt eifrige Wanderer durch das Goma-Gebirge hindurch. Sie ist die einzige Verbindung zwischen Vault und Bilibin.
The Goma Cave leads eager wanderers through the Goma Mountains. It's the only connection between Vault and Bilibin.
| Gondowan Cliffs |
These cliffs connect the continents of Gondowan and Indra. To reach Gondowan by foot you'll have to cross them! What unfortunately isn't the easiest task.
| Gondowan Passage |
This passage leads you to the other side of a river that connects the north of Gondowan with the rest of the continent. It's guarded by Tolbian soldiers.
| Gondowan Settlement |
A in Gondowan's west. Well, there's not much to see here! Perhaps you might want to make a visit when you're about to reach Magma Rock...?
| Hesperia Settlement |
Well, a small settlement... and really not of much importance, that is, if you do not actually want to settle down here, too! :-D
| Indra East Shore |
A small island more or less sandwiched by Gondowan and Indra. Nothing too special, but it's worth a visit thanks to the Animal Quest.
| Izumo |
Izumo has a very asiatic feel to it, one doen't have to be a prophet to be able to tell that this place can be described as Japanese through and through! The residents are really shocked since the legendary Serpent from Gaia Rock has appeared again...
| Jupiter Lighthouse |
The third one of the lighthouses on your journey, and when you think about that this place won't be reached until very late in the game it becomes clear that all the travelling to it alone has made you so much trouble! It's one of the most complex lighthouses, and very well-protected, to keep you from igniting the beacon...
| Kalay |
Thr rich and mighty town of Lord Hammet! Who founded Kalay as a successfull merchant and reigns over the city from his palace, his wife Lady Layana always alongside him. Kalay's quite a live settlement and above all an eminent one. As a big trading town Kalay even possesses an own haven that lies west of the town.
| Kalay Docks |
The Kalay Docks the town's haven. Trading ships are travelling over the Karagol Sea to Tolbi here, but tourists are also gladly taken to the other side of the sea from this haven!
| Kalt Island |
A cold island, directly bordering on the Northern Regions. It's coated in snow and ice, still some people have settled down on it!
| Kandorean Temple |
In this timple your abilities will be neatly tested for the first time! Fortunately the tests in the temple's caves aren't the most difficult ones. At the end Master Poi will grant you his temple's power for passing the test!
| Kibombo |
Weyard may not actually be the most technological world imaginable, but the Kibombo are simply primitive, not too civilised people. They have a very belligerent nature and aren't afraid of paying their neighbours a small visit. In their ceremonies they're paying homage to their divinity, the Great Gabomba.
| Kibombo Mountains |
Thése mountains in the midst of Gondowan connect the villages of Naribwe in th South as well as Kibombo in the North. Be careful, as the Kibombo keep a strict watch over the mountain paths, and it's no joke when they're saying that no one shall pass!
| Kolima |
A modest settlement of lumberjacks right in the heart of Angara. A tree called Tret has cursed the village and transformed the people into trees as they tried to cut down Tret himself. They did it by order of Lady McCoy – if they'd only known in better! Only when Tret's anger is calmed down they'll still have a hope of changing back into human beings again.
| Kolima Bridge |
Whoever wants to to reach the Fuchin Temple or Mogall Forest from Kolima has to pass this bridge. But watch out, as the curse upon Kolima didn't make an exception with the bridgeman! To pass it you'll first have to change him back.
| Kolima Forest |
Since Mt. Aleph broke out and a psynergy stone hit the eldest and mightiest of the trees here, namely Tret, the Kolima Forest is an enchanted place. It's up to you to give this forest its former, peaceful face back!
| Lalivero |
Lalivero lies directly south of Venus Lighthouse. The town's rather isolated from the outside world and there weren't any major events... until Cosma, the miracle child, fell from the heavens down to Lalivero! Since that happened the village and the girl attract quite an attention. So much that Lord Babi let that very girl be taken hostage in Tolbi...
| Lama Temple |
The Lama Temple is the residence of Master Hama. This lady, she has a special connection to your group by the way, will teach you the important 'Reveal' psynergy and aoart from that wish you much lock for your journey.
| Lemuria |
Lemuria's a very special place on Weyard. It's the only one of the ancient civilisation from the Golden Age of Alchemy that still exists! Perhaps because its people are living a very secluded life, hardly any human being reaches Lemuria through the Sea of Time. The peace-loving Lemurians live for much longer than normal humans, multiple times even, due to the power of water. Same with Lord Babi, ruler over Tolbi, who once visited the realm and fled shortly after that. Lemuria's ruled by both a king and a senate, but their ever-present conflicts about Weyard's fate are a heavy burden for the realm.
| Loho |
Loho's trademark seems to be its people's excavation projects, not unlike the town of Altin. As inventive people they're even developed am enormous cannon that will surely give you some good services later in the game!
| Lunpa |
Lunpa's an infamous town of thieves, founded and built about 150 years ago by the thief of the sane name. Despite of this it has been a respected settlement, but since the current ruler, Lunpa, rose to power the town and surroundings suffer from his rule. This very man even dared to catch Hammet, the famous merchant and ruler over Kalay, and take him prisoner!
| Madra |
The town of Madra lies in the far south of Indra. Actually life has been very normal here until Briggs, the pirate captain, and his men raided and plundered Madra. Shortly after this a man with blue hair had been found and imprisoned due to suspicion...
| Magma Rock |
The elemental rock of fire. It can be quite a (hot) pain to explore the whole of it until you reach the elemental chamber! But that too will of necessity, so that the powers of fire will eventually teach a new technique to your Mars Adept!
| Mars Lighthouse |
The last of the four lighthouses on your journey and also the most challenging one of them! It's located close to the village of Prox, home to the Mars Clan. It's clad in ice and snow and the lava isn't anymore, but with the energy source in its inner rooms you'll be able to bring the old shine back to it...!
| Mercury Lighthouse |
The first of the four lighthouses you'll encounter on your journey. It's dedicated to Mercury and therefore attributed to the water element. The tower was built during the Golden Age, still this architectural masterpiece will be the easiest lighthouse to master for you during your quest.
| Mikasalla |
Why are these many villages only so far apart from each other? Anyways, Mikasalla's mainly a place to rest for wanderers who want to scale the Air's Rock.
| Mogall Forest |
A forest created through the changes in the world after Mt. Aleph's eruption. Before it the area of the forest has been a desolate desert. Now it's full of... life in this dense forest!
| Naribwe |
Naribwe isn't located in a desert, but still its surroundings are quite dry. The village itself is a rather scarce view, but the residents accept this and live in peace with the other peoples.
| N Osenia Islet |
In the midst of the Eastern Sea there's this island. You might want to take a look here when you're about to solve the "Animal Quest"!
| Prox |
The isolated village surrounded by snow and ice in the Northern Regions. Due to the slow erosion the village it's feared that it will gradually perish. Saturos and Menardi, but Agatio and Karst as well all come from this village. They were sent out to light the elemental beacons and to eventually save the village from its inevitable demise! The Mars Lighthouse itself lies in the immediate north of Prox.
| Sea of Time Islet |
A quiet and hardly noticable settlement in midst of the Eastern Sea. The riffs souths of the settlement will be of interest to you, as you'll be able to explore them at the end of the "Animal Quest".
| SE Angara Islet |
A small island northwest of the Sea of Time. It's quite curious that on each of these small islands some people have still always settled down, isn't it?
| Shaman Village |
Perhaps the most important place in Golden Sun's storyline. The Shaman Village is an important part of the prophecy around Ivan and your journey. The Shaman's Rod that has once been given away along with the young Ivan shall be brought brack to this place by him and his group when the time has come. At this place you'll also embrace the endowment required to master the Jupiter Lighthouse!
| Shrine of the Sea God |
A building so old that it could likely originate from the Golden Age of Alchemy. This sacred place harbours a piece of the ancient Trident of Ankohl, which is why this place will be of great importance for you.
| Sol Sanctum |
The Sol Sanctum was once built to serve as a means of custody for the Elemental Stars after a long war broke out during the age of Alchemy, the Lost Age. That way their power shall never again be misused for something. A God called the Wise One guards the Stars in their very chamber. After creating the Sanctum the builders founded a village very close to it – Vale.
| Suhalla |
The Suhalla is a rather poor settlement in the heart of Gondowan. The climatic's very dry and its inhabitants have to live an utterly modest life. The gigantic Suhalla Desert extends south of the village.
| SW Atteka Islet |
It may be hard to believe your eyes, but this island indeed lies near the proverbial end of the world! Now let's hope strongly that it won't fall off one day...!
| Taopo Swamp |
The Taopo Swamp's located in Osenia, in the southwest, to be precise. They're not very welcoming to passengers and I'm not surprised why not a single body's living close to it. Still, the swamp harbours many treasures, especially in its underground caves! So a little exploring might pay off.
| Tolbi |
Tolbi's certainly one of the richest and most shining cities on Weyard. After all it has an own haven and even a palace to offer! The people here are living in the midst of festivals, extravaganzas and other forms of amusement. Not to the least part that's because of their ruler, Lord Babi, who has led the city to its peak in his incredibly long life. Sadly the Lord has some less honourable traits, too, which the village of Lalivero could especially witness.
| Tolbi Docks |
And west of the Karagol Sea there's finally the Tolbi Docks. Through it the ships from Kalay can reach Tolbi and vice-versa...
| Treasure Isle |
An island full of treasures an perils! Explore the caves and snatch everything you can get hold of! But be prepared for hindrances aplenty... Interesting trivia: In German this island would be translated as "Schatzinsel", but that's already been the translation for "Crossbone Isle" in the first game... Way to give yourselves troubles, dear translators!
| Tundaria Tower |
More or less this tower's the only hint that anyone at all has once settled on the icy continent of Tundaria! The path to it is frustratingly long and cold, above all... And yet this tower harbours a piece of the important Trident!
| Vale |
Vale is Isaac's and Garet's home village. All of its inhabitans are adepts, but that's kept as a secret to the outside world by the Valeans. Vale was built close to the Sol Sanctum after the Great War during the age of Alchemy was over and the Elemental Stars were left in the Sanctum for custody. That's why the Valeans' task is to protect the Stars from misuse. Or it's been theirs...
| Vault |
Vault is a peaceful village in Angara and also the first station that Isaac and Garet choose as a resting place after leaving Vale. At that time it's unfortunately plagued by thieves... Still, there's something good, too: You'll get to know Ivan here, who from then on will be the Wind Adept in your group!
| Venus Lighthouse |
A lighthouse dedicated to Venus and the Earth element that keeps the Earth alchemy sealed. It will be the second lighthouse on your journey and a far more confusing building than anything you've seen up to that point! The final battle of Golden Sun, the first game, takes place here.
| Xian |
Xian's quite different to the othere settlements in Angara. It could be argued that it is what, in other worlds, might be called "asiatic"! =D Xian lives on it's cotton trade which is brought to many other places through the Silk Road.
| Yallam |
Yallam will certainly be the village you'll remember for its great smith called Sunshine! Because, if you bring some raw materials to him, he'll gladly jump ouf his bed and start work to forge some neat things for you! Furthermore you can receive some useful information about the Sea of Time here, during a child's play.
| Yampi Desert |
And so it had been decided that deserts will be shown on the World Map in the sequel (which wasn't the case in the first game). Well, the Yampi Desert is... hot... lotsa sand... what makes a desert what it is! It doesn't have any cute image on the World Map, just... lotsa sand...
