Babi's soldiers are already anticipating your arrival in front of the colosseum's gates. After all Babi's reserved you a place straight in the finals! The soldiers look rather baffled at first because you don't exactly have the most impressive physique. But an order's an order! You'll now be led to the preparation halls inside the arena.
Here you'll be given a closer look at Babi's instructions and the general rules of Colosso. According to them only one warrior's allowed to participate in the battles, it's going to be Isaac! Garet's upset about that, but Ivan calms him down and cheers Isaac up a little. As the remaining three may only perform as audience here – but on the other hand with the privilege to stay in close contact to the happenings through special seats.
But as Ivan's a tremendously smart guy he'll ask the soldiers whether they couldn't show them the stages in the arena beforehand. Since they don't know better themselves they'll also eventually agree with that. One of the soldiers will thereupon lead you to the first arena of the Finals.
Immediately you'll find yourselves inside it. Here it'll be explained to you that before the actual fighting starts a race to the finish is held. Whoever's the quicker one here will have an advantage in battle. That's especially of importance here – the finalists start the race without any of their own equipment.
Now the running track will be explained to you in detail. The track itself consists of several individual stages or obstacles which you'll have to master. When you're past them you'll eventually come to the location of the fight. Here there are two different armours or weapons, who comes first obviously gets the better one of them. On the way you can also take various items out of the chests spread all over the track. In addition he tells you that you might want to ask the attendants if you'd like to cheer in their respective areas.
And the latter thing's important, because only that way you can position Garet, Ivan and Mia in a way so that they can use their powers to assist Isaac in getting past the various obstacles. Go to the individual attendants, their order will be place from to the entrance to the end. At the first station you'll have to move a stone pillar in order to advance, at the second one it's a pipe. At the third one you'll have to get past a few trap-like pits have and at the fourth one a small lake has to be crossed. Who does what is still easy here: let Garet cheer in the first area, Mia in the second and Ivan somewhere else. Go back to the soldier and tell him you've had your look here.
The soldier will now lead you into the waiting room of the gladiators. Here you can chat with the other contestants, that is, if you want to listen to their bragging. Position yourselves in the last of the eight circles and the soldiers will call the others together. Now the Finals start, the gladiators are leaving to their starting positions!
Lend a Hand! This neat little break can be used to utilisev your friends' powers in a way so that the result's to Isaac's advantage in some of the stages. Garet for example can already move the stone pillar to the center, which will allow Isaac to jump over straight away. Mia already fills the pool with a Douse, whereas Ivan does nothing at all and notifies right away the attendant.
3, 2, 1, Go! The race has started and you should get going! Because fortunately your friends have already relieved you of a many a burden here you now have (nearly) all the time in the world to deal with the goods spread around the track. Jump over Garet's moved pillar and move another stone pillar to get to a chest with a Nut. The next stage you can also run through thanks to Mia's help. At the third one you'll only have to stop shortly and then start to sprint when the drawbridges are walkable. You can also get a nearby Oil Drop, but I don't think it's worth the effort. At the fourth stage all you have to do is balance with the wooden plank before you. For another, but not necessary Nut you first have to go back sidewards, take the horizontal plank and balance back on the other one.
If you're the quicker gladiator of both you'll receive an Iron Shield, otherwise it'll be only a pair of Padded Gloves. Keep in mind that this equipment has priority over the other items! The fight will start once your rival appears! It should be over rather quickly – batter your enemy with Ragnarok attacks and heal yourselves with Cure Well or a Nut, then victory should be yours in no time!
The soldiers have judged you wrongly, you're a force to be reckoned with through and through in the arena! After they've lauded your fighting skills you'll be showed the second running track.
Here at the second site there are not only four, but even the stages five! The first one's a sort of labyrinth where you have to find your way through, a lake follows which you can pass by jumping on moving platforms. The third one's some more balancing, the fourth one some sort of wall climbing and jumping, the fifth and last one a maze where you have to roll logs. Give the "Orb of Force" to Garet and send him to the fifth stage, Ivan with the "Halt Gem" to the second ad Mia to the third one before leaving the site.
Lend a Hand, once again! This time really everyone can make themselves useful here! At first use Garet's Force to chop down an unsound log. Ivan can take the man at the switch out with Halt, Mia on the other hand can build a kind of leg-up for Isaac with Frost. Now if these aren't some dirty tricks! =D
Let the second Final begin! There's actually not that much to write about the track anymore. The first labyrinth's a joke (bird's eye view!), the second stage can be jumped through without much thought. The thereby sacrificed Sleep Bomb can be neglected. Having come to the third one immediately take the first plank and jump over the icy pillar. Simply climb up the wall at the fourth one, ignore the Smoke Bomb in the chest and jump down the middle notch. At the last one climb down the wall and jump to the other side of the pond (don't mind another missed Nut in a northern chest), thereupon you'll finally arrive at the battleground. As the quicker one you'll receive a Chain Mail, but your enemy only a Cotton Shirt. The fight against Satrage will be just as monotonous as the first one. With psynergy and your protective gear the win should be easily accomplished!
Tolbi's soldiers are now even more astonished than before, after all you'll only have to win one more fight to become the new Colosso champ! You'll now be led to the last site of the tournament.
The grande finale does not have four, not five, but no less that six stages! I guess I should just let that sink in before we can go on. In the first one you'll have to lift a platform, in the second one to jump over stone pillars and in the third one evade pistons coming out of the wall. The fourth one's wall climbing, the fifth one running on a conveyor belt and the sixth one consists of pillar moving and log rolling. Fortunately the picks for this site are easy! Garet goes to the second, Ivan holding the "Halt Gem" to the third and Mia to the first stage.
Lend a Hand for the last time! Garet uses his Move and thus enables Isaac to take a massive shortcut. Ivan's found his next victim which he can tantalise with his Halt psynergy. Afterwards Mia just freezes the puddle on the ground with Frost and you've finished your business here!
As you should know by now how the wind blows here we'll switch to fast forward mode once again for the grande finale! After all your friends have already relieved you of much work here. The first can be jumped through thanks to Mia, maybe also take the Smoke Bomb out of the nearby chest. Due to Garet's help you can abridge much of the designated way at the stone pillars. The third stage's merely a run-through thanks to Ivan! Move the pillar and take the Nut out of the chest. The fourth and fith stage can be simply gone and climbed through. A the sixth one there are two stone pillars to be moved to the northern wall before rolling the log into the water. Neglect the chest containing a Sleep Bomb and go straight to the battleground! There you'll receive a Claymore as the race winner, your enemy a Hunter's Sword. Same old game here against Navampa with psynergy. The battle's over...
But what's that? Isaac's fallen unconscious after the battle! In worry the friends gather around him. Albeit he'll give you a certain sign as far as he's concerned...
Isaac fell asleep! His friends have thereupon brought him to Babi's palace, where you still are as well. Isaac doesn't know a thing about the current affairs, but his companions will enlighten him there. He's won the Colosso tournament, Babi's been singing his praises and the whole thing gained quite a popularity.
Furthermore Isaac will be told that Lord Babi wishes to see him as soon as he's awakened! So get out of the comfy bed, you have an audience to make!
Lord Babi's chamber's located in the second floor of the palace. Go out of the dorm room, the stairs leading you up here are centrally situated. Just walk through the hallway following it and you're already there. Iodem, Babi's advicor, has already been waiting for you here along with the Lord himself. Listen carefully to the whole dialogue here, it's one of the game's most important scenes. First of all you'll be given the reward for having won Colosso and be asked about how you're feeling right now. Although Garet soon sees (doesn't happen too often!), admittedly expressed rather brashly, that this can't be the whole truth here...
And so we've already reached the more serious business after all the praises and thanks about Colosso and Babi's rescue. In the meantime Babi's told Iodem everything, from Psynergy to the mystic draught to the ancient civilisation of Lemuria. About that very city he'll now tell you a bit, like he promised earlier. More than a hundred years ago he once travelled to Lemuria along with Lunpa the thief. There the people are in possession of a draught that's able to immensely slow down the aging process. As Babi's left Lemuria he was only able to carry a limited amount of the draught along with him, and he's running out of it soon. Which is why there have been so many extensive researches about Alchemy under his rule!
Because once he's run out of the draught his life will come to an end. Therefore all of his researches somehow deal with rediscovering Lemuria. The problem's just that there hasn't been any progress so far as far as discoveries go! Which indeed leads us to the inevitable request...
Although Babi's not without any resources, as, like he has to particularly confess, he's solely ordered to build his new lighthouse to eventually use it as an observation platform, but from which something could already be spotted southeast in the sea. But even if the city can be located a normal ship won't be able to come through the extraordinary currents around Lemuria. It has to be a Lemurian ship which only adepts like you can steer! Babi asks you most urgently.
You won't deny, but Garet throws in that their actual mission's to get to Venus Lighthouse, to save their friends. Babi will notice your point there and continue that his scholars have encountered problems at the Venus Lighthouse, that they're stuck before an unsolved riddle. Therefore it's be okay if you'd travel to this lighthouse in his name, to the benefit of both parties. He commands his servant Iodem to be waiting for you at the Gondowan Passage. Thereupon the Lord will go to his bed chambers and you'll come together.
It doesn't sound very polite, but follow him. You'll find him lying in his bed, next to him the Cloak Ball that allows him to become invisible. Ask him about the precious piece, he'll borrow you it for the duration of your journey. Already in the next chapter you'll have to make heavy use of it!
When you have the ball everything's done in this palace. Leave it and also Tolbi, as your journey will lead you to many further places now! But before that a little backtracking...
