Chapter 14: The Lama Temple
Once you're out of the mines you'll find yourselves on the World Map again! The next place to go for you is the Lama Temple. And that one's right under your nose! =)
First of all take your time to have a little chit-chat with the local students before tackling your actual task here. And that one's simply – to visit the temple itself here. You can find the building in the northeast of the area. Pick up a Psynergy Stone along the way!
Inside the timple you'll meet Master Hama, who did already expect you thanks to her ability to foresee events in visions. She already knows about your journey and intentions. When asked how she got to know all this Hama will reply that she's a Jupiter Adept, just like Ivan. Ivan's quiet surprised to hear that, as he didn't know that himself.
Because of that, so she continues, it's possible for her to foresee the future. This gift is exclusive to Jupiter Adepts, though. Ivan throws in his doubts by saying he's not able to do such things at all, but Hama tells him thereupon that he's already learned this ability. Ivan just hasn't been aware of it yet! Furthermore she says that he can learn an even greater power – the one to reveal!
Master Hama explains that she's been waiting for Ivan's and the others' arrival in the Lama Temple solely because you're going to need the power to reveal on your journey. Over time Jupiter Adepts should actually learn this power by themselves, but still she'd like to teach it to you already at this point. You can't exactly use 'Reveal' to locate Saturos, as he and his group are constantly moving, though. She continues that it was him who set up the blocking of the Silk Road. Garet's now really upset about your enemies, but the situation eventually calms down again when Hama explains that Felix bears a terrible fate...
Hama makes you conscious about the fact you're going to need revealing powers to wander though the upcoming Lamakan Desert. As the heat there be unbearable, and Saturos and Menardi might have only been able to go through it because as Mars Adepts they're resistant to the heat. But you'll need it to find the oases in the desert in which you can cool yourselves down. Otherwise your eyes will only be fooled and not be able to make out any at all! Although Master hama has her doubts whether she'll really be able to sucessfully teach you to reveal. She once tried it on a girl, but couldn't see any changes on her...
Without further ado this very girl will have her say then, it's Feizhi! She tells you that she's very well changed. And she has the feeling that Hsu's in danger! But she also says that she'd only gotten this gift when stones hit her on the head. Hama assmumes psynergy stones... Feizhi says she came over to Lama Temple in search for aid for Hsu. Hama approves of that, and both hurry up to come to his aid.
Garet throws in that Hama hasn't even taught Ivan the ability to reveal yet! Hama comes to her senses again and starts transferring her power to Ivan. Successfully! The both of them go out therafter to rescue Hsu.
Subsequently Mia asks Ivan if he knew Hama, she seemed so familiar with him, but Ivan says no. Still Mia is sure that they should in any case try to help Hsu before continuing on their quest. Ivan still wonders about Hama, but eventually you'll reunite again.
Leave the temple, you'll be instantly presented an opportunity to test out your Reveal! From the temple building on go eastwards and jump over the river. Now go to the stone and use your Reveal there – the stone will turn into a chest containing a Water of Life! You can also find a hint of the hidden item on the tablet carved into the rock face. After that leave the Lama Temple!
Go directly eastwards as soon as you're on the World Map again. You're now on the other end of the Silk Road. You can see the suffering Hsu along with Feizhi and Hama, who try to help him. Can you make out the little circle of pebbles on the ground that borders on the wall? Such circles always stand for something hidden. Thus use your Reveal here and a hidden passage will show up! Go through it and you're on the other side. To rescue Hsu you'll have to position yourself to the very left of the boulder and then use Lift. The boulder will start floating then, and Feizhi and Hama manage to save Hsu.
Feizhi thanks you and promises that Master Feh, the dojo leader of Xian, will take care of Hsu. Furthermore he will organise everything to clean up the rocks on the Silk Road! The scene now switches to the Lama Temple, where Master Hama sincerely thanks you again for everything you've done. After she's gone back into the temple the group makes Ivan aware that he intended to ask Hama what she meant earlier. But as Ivan supposes that she wouldn't tell tell him anything before his mission's completed anyways he'll leave it at that. You'll then come together again.
Just like in the Fuchin Temple you've been able to learn the preserved secret of this place and have also helped a person in greatest peril thereby! Now, if that's not something...! But now it's already time again to leave the Lama Temple. One last view and the journey continues!
