Walkthrough (Golden Sun)

Chapter 1: The Prologue

Welcome to my Golden Sun walkthrough! With it I want to hereby give all desperate players of the famous first game who are stuck somewhere and just don't know where to go a good help! Well, let's go! Turn your GBA on and enjoy the great opening scene before the journey begins.

Press START and you'll get to the game's main menu. Choose, of course, the point "New" afterwards and enter the name of your hero! I'll take the liberty of using the standard name, Isaac! ;-)

Straight away your mother Dora will call out for you, as a massive eruption of Mt. Aleph is about to lay waste of the village! After she has somehow gotten you out of bed she'll give you a coat and begins to quickly get out of the house! Finally down in the ground floor Kyle, Isaac's father, will tell you that you should get out of the house as fast as possible! Outside you'll be informed that Kyle has to help the other villagers and you should better go to the plaza! As your mother will have to help, too, she'll ask you to go to the plaza alone.

According to mother Dora the plaza's in the south, so why don't take the stairs right in front of you? But as soon as you approach it the path will be blocked by a boulder dropping down. Only the northern way remains then!

So then run north, past your house, and go up the stairs. The house in front of you is the one of Garet, your best friend, and you'll catch sight of him very soon! He's apparently trying to take his chest filled with oodles of stuff with him, sadly with not too much success. Talk to him and convince him that there are more important things than his belongings. He'll agree with you and join you on your way to the plaza!

Together you should now go north. As soon as you reach a big staircase Garet will make you aware that you'd only directly come to the eruption mountain that way! For the plaza you'll have to go south, so cross the bridge to your left. Having reached the end you'll see a group of villagers who are trying to stop a giant boulder from dropping with their psynergy (the magic in Golden Sun). One of them will call out to you to quickly run further, it's not very far anymore!

From now on we're finally heading south! Go downstairs and run on. The next big boulder will prevent you from getting further! Take the westwards way then, you'll come to a new area.

Sprint a little along the way and you'll face a man lying on the floor. Talk to him and he'll tell you about monsters which have attacked him. If you tell him that he's not going to die here he'll jump up and agree with you completely baffled – strange people there are! But you'll also be given the hint that you should watch out for monster nearby!

The next staircase is in the south, also descend that one and run eastwards again after you've come down. But wait, what was that? A Vermin has seen you and wants to attack you! But don't worry, simply attack it and you'll soon be victorious in your very first fight! After only a few steps you'll also encounter a Bat. But it also won't pose any problem for you.

Off we go, you're now in the previous area again, just past the boulder that blocks the way for you. Immediately two Wild Mushrooms will attack you! Defeat one after another and the battle is over. Via the bridge to the east you'd get back to your house if the boulders weren't there. You also cannot go farther south as there's anorther huge rock hindering you. Therefore take the long stairs that are directly south of you.

Now you'll be witnessing a tragic incidence: Felix, also one of your friends, has fallen into the water and is about to be washed away now! Dora, Kyle, Felix' sister Jenna as well as his parents are trying everything to save him. After a while our mother and Jenna will want go out for help. Jenna goes to the plaza whilst your mother will stumbles across you. Tell her you'll be looking for help at the plaza and run past the house south of you. As unfortunately you cannot do anything for poor Felix at all right now!

The you'll come to a bridge if you go up the stairs. Cross it, in the east you'll get to the plaza. Before you leave the area there are still two fights against a vermin and a bat to pass. You'll find only abandonded houses in the next area, run past them until you eventually reach the desired plaza far in the south!

You'll see Jenna along with two helpers in front of the big psynergy stone at the plaza, they're currently talking to the mayor. He'll thank your for solely coming to help the others and send you off along with a man who's just refilled his psynergy. He and Jenna will join you – no time to lose, Felix has to be saved! Now just go back the way you've come to the plaza, back to Felix and the others!

Again there on the bridge your mother will ask you how you've fared. She's more than happy about your success, and you'll decide to go to Felix. But suddenly... the earth trembles! What's happening? A giant boulder falls down and crashes right onto Felix, his house, his parents...!

After the impact Felix' house will be completely destroyend, he and his parents disappeared! Everyone now still shakes from of the awful shock and you're now on your way alone again.

Now cross the bridge leading to the plaza again. Garet will come to his senses and decide to go with you again.

Suddenly you'll hear strange voices... they're coming from two foreign warriors who are talking about the Sanctum's unforeseen powers right now – they caused the storm! And they'll notice you when Garet loudly shouts for you. They're not very pleased to know that you've overheard them, and they'll want to fight yoz... You'll have no chance against the two mysteriozs persons and be knocked out in no time by them.

This incident happened three years ago, in the next chapter the epic story called Golden Sun will finally unfold! :-)
